Meet your host- Jen Barrett. As someone who's been sober for three and a half years, Meg's Intoxicating Lies felt familiar in a quiet, grounded way. Her exploration of alcohol, identity, and the normalization of drinking culture reflects many of the internal questions I’ve personally had to face along my own path.
What stays with me most is her honesty about the complexity of change—not just the decision to stop drinking, but the deeper unraveling of beliefs, habits, and narratives that shape how we relate to ourselves and others. Her story speaks to the space between clarity and confusion that so often comes with growth.
I’m honored to host Meg for this self-care book club conversation and to hold space for a discussion that feels both deeply personal and widely relatable.
